Downloading the IRCTC App
To begin with, you need to first download the app. The Android app can be downloaded from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cris.org.in.prs.ima&hl=en_IN and once the app is downloaded, the app can be initialized by simply tapping on the app icon.
Signing in with IRCTC App
After downloading the app, you will have to register for using the app. Click on the sign-up page and enter the details. If you are already a registered user of IRCTC then you can use those login credentials to login to the IRCTC App. The app will also give you an option to create a Login Pin which will eliminate the need for entering the password everytime.
Booking Ticket with IRCTC App
-> After the login, you will be taken to the ticket booking page. If in case, you find yourself on any other page then click on the Menu option from the top left corner and click on Book Tickets. This will take you to the screen that can be used to book tickets.
-> Now, enter the source and destination station along with the date of journey. Tap on Flexible With Dates if you are flexible with your journey dates. Once the data is entered, click on Search Train.
-> The trains available will be displayed on the next screen. You can change your travel date or quota using this screen. Shortlist the train in which you would like to travel. You can choose between multiple criteria by using the sort function.
-> After deciding the train that you would like to travel in, click on the train and select the class. Check the availability and click on Book Now button. You will now be shown the fare of the train.
-> In the next step, you can enter the details of the passengers that are travelling with you. After entering the details of the passengers, click on Book Ticket once again. Now, you can choose from the options like the boarding stations, booking options and etc. To proceed, click on Done.
-> The next page will display the summary of your booking. Click on Book Tickets and enter the captcha code to move to the next page. On this page, you can proceed to the payment. Make the payment using the preferred payment option.
-> The tickets will be booked after the payment has been made. It will be displayed on your mobile screen and you will also receive the SMS for the tickets that you booked.
